  • Measurement principle

    pH products employ industrial pH electrodes as sensors. The probe consists of a solid electrolyte and a large‑area polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) liquid junction, offering resistance to clogging and ease of maintenance. The electrode used for pH measurement is also referred to as a primary cell, in which chemical energy is converted into electrical energy, thereby generating an electromotive force (EMF). The EMF arises from two half‑cells: one is the measuring half‑cell, whose potential is related to the activity of a specific ion; the other is the reference half‑cell, commonly called the reference electrode, which is typically in contact with the medium being measured and connected to the measuring instrument.

    Conductivity products employ two types of sensors: electrode‑type and electromagnetic induction‑type. Electrode‑type conductivity meters feature electrodes that make direct contact with the solution, making them suitable for measuring low‑conductivity media—typically in the μS/cm range, with an upper limit of up to 10 mS/cm. Electromagnetic induction‑type conductivity meters, also known as electromagnetic concentration meters, use an induction coil separated from the solution by corrosion‑resistant materials, enabling non‑contact measurement and thereby avoiding issues such as corrosion and contamination. Moreover, since they have no electrodes, electrode polarization is not a concern. These instruments are well suited for measuring high‑conductivity media—generally in the mS/cm range—as well as highly corrosive or dirty fluids.

    Application scenarios

    Continuous monitoring of organic matter loads in sewage within manholes, online monitoring of influent and effluent water quality at wastewater treatment plants, and continuous online monitoring of surface water, industrial discharge, and aquaculture effluent.

    Optional accessory 2: A combustible (methane) gas concentration sensor can be added; however, this will reduce the device’s battery life.

    Sensor cable length: 10 meters

    Battery: Built-in lithium‑ion battery, non‑rechargeable; 133 Ah, 266 Ah (optional) / 3.6 VDC; self‑discharge rate not exceeding 5% per year.

    Battery life: At 133 Ah, with one measurement and transmission every 5 minutes, each sensor operates for 10 seconds, and the device supports 2 years of operation on NB‑IoT and 2 years on 4G.

    Wireless breakpoint resumption: When the base station signal is interrupted, data is automatically saved and, once the wireless signal is restored, the timestamped data is resent.

    Bluetooth (optional): BLE Low Energy 5.1, range up to 150 meters in open space, sensitivity: -90 dBm, transmit power: +6 dBm, standby current: 50 µA.
